Our Camps

SHS FlexCamp™

Seaton Hackney offers a Flexible Camp Program any day or half-day of the year! For an amount equal to a couple of half-hour private lessons, participants will spend an exciting day at the Stables and ride at least twice, sometime three times throughout the day. The rest of the time will be spent learning about Barn Management matters and practicing them hands-on under the tutelage of one of our staff Instructors or Barn/Yard managers. Drop your child at any time after the Barn opens (8am) and pick her/him up any time before closing. This is what “FlexCamp™” is all about. This is not as structured and supervised as our regular camp, so participants should be able to interact with the horses and staff with minimal supervision.

Summer Equestrian Camp

Wondering what your child can do over the summer? Looking for something different that combines the great outdoors with education and fun? Send your child to Seaton Hackney Stables for one of our summer camp programs!

We accept children 5yr to 17yr and form groups according to age and level of experience, if any.

See our forms page for registration forms for all types of riders (PEP, Standard, Intermediate, Advanced).

E

If your child is between 5yr and 7yr old, the PEP Form is what you need.

E

For riders with little or no experience or who only ride occasionally, Standard Form. These two Camps also have their own built in proficiency levels.

E
Has (s)he been riding regularly for 2 to 3 years, use the Intermediate Rider Form.
E
If the rider is an advanced rider who has been riding regularly for 3 years or more, the Advanced Rider Form should be used.
Before registering, feel free to give us a call (973-644-3355) and we will happily help you determine the proper level. We also strongly recommend a couple of short private lessons to ensure that the child will happily participate in Camp and to establish her/his riding level.

Campers learn basic safety, grooming, tacking and barn management skills. They ride 2-3 times daily, either in lessons, on trail rides, lungeing session and Equisthenics.

In addition, campers receive daily Badges in many different topics including harness driving, equine breeds, colors and markings, equine health and First Aid, braiding and Show grooming, careers in the industry (demonstrations by vet and farrier) and other exciting horsemanship matters.

Our camp counselors hail from around the world and bring a fun and exciting international flair to the program, introducing a wide range of exciting activities related to their own culture.

Weekly camps run all summer until Labor Day. Half-day and full-day sessions for riders of every ability (ages 5 to 17) are available. Session dates, rates, and other information are included. With space limited and several weeks already filled, reserve your place now by calling or visiting our office. Better yet, fill out a registration form and fax or mail it to us today.

Also, you can access, print out and fax/mail/email the Health Information and Forms.

Seaton Hackney is limited by the number of horses, staff requirements and other activities taking place while Camp is in session.

As a result, we will not accept more than 49 participants in any given session. Please make sure to register early and avoid disappointment.
